For those seeking a profound, embodied experience into our shared humanity.

Step inside the DOJO - a radically liberating space of deep relational connection, self discovery, and transformation. The DOJO offers you a profound initiation into your inherent nature and the visceral experience of fully embodying and up-leveling your life force. Here, you'll remember the beauty and power of your true nature, and cultivate a deeper sense of wholeness, freedom, and vitality.

The highly effective methods first developed over many years in the renowned Avalon field are further evolved here to create a powerful container for your full expression and healing. Drawing on shadow work, inner-child experiencing and somatic realise work amongst many others the DOJO work facilitates a space for radical aliveness and self actualization.

Through surrender, embodiment, curiosity, presence, and connection, you'll explore what's been holding you back from living more fully and find new possibilities for growth, embodiment and integration.

The DOJO is not a spectator sport, it requires a high level of participation. Our practice is rooted in compassion and vulnerability, inviting you to explore the shadows and the light within you with openness and curiosity. With the support of our deep, relational group practice, which will have you face yourself in ways that you either haven’t seen, have been avoiding or have been challenged by in your life. You'll feel held in and accountable to your more authentic, empowered self.

The DOJO is for you if:

1. You are desiring to be seen, met and heard at deeper levels

2. You have felt stuck in patterns of behavior you just can’t seem to shake

3. You feel that sometimes you are lacking vitality and clear sense of purpose

4. You act as though you are drifting through life without truly engaging

5. Your relationships feel unfulfilling and/or stuck and unenergized

6. You have a feeling of depletion in your body, low energy and motivation

7. You are looking to actualize more and can’t quite seem to

8. You feel, unsafe, unwelcome, unclear or not good enough in relationship

What to expect

8 days

An Initiation into your Inherent Nature
A Weeklong Group Intensive
Mammoth Lakes, California

Your Hosts

Tom Slater

Tom Slater has always had a deep curiosity and hunger for direct life experience. This has lead him through many challenges, openings and opportunities over the last 40 years. He has forged his own intimate relationship with life and found surrender as a means to truth and aliveness. Over the course of 8 years he ran, co-facilitated and evolved the renowned Avalon field and developed the DOJO. It was here that he found what he had been looking for: a container in which to open into greater relational potential and realize his wilder presence.

James Sol Radina

James Sol Radina has spent the last 6 years diving deep into the Avalon-style work as a participant & co-facilitator. 15 years ago he started down the path of spiritual, emotional, mental and energetic healing through workshops & trainings. He has also ‘been in the world’, practising the work as an entrepreneur and consultant, launching over 15 companies. As a co-facilitator of the DOJO, he is here to deepen his journey into the unknown and further meet layers of himself.

Brigitte Kelso

Brigitte Kelso has been a facilitator in the field of somatic health and healing for over 20 years. Introduced to the Avalon meeting method 6 years ago, she went on to become a member of the Avalon facilitation team assisting with retreats in both the US and Europe. She was on the team for the first Genesis Dojo and is passionate about the profound way this work catalyses growth, transformation and healing.

Jana Wilder

Jana Wilder After running a movement that touched millions, leading Simon Sinek’s team for over a decade Jana co-founded Meet Your Magic. Her devotion to expansion and her obsession with exploring the complexity of what is to be human lead her to this work and other modalities of mental, physical, sexual and spiritual courses and trainings. She’s been a student and practitioner of different lineages of this body of work for five years.

Kael/a Atleework

Kaela Atleework is an experience designer, a human connection researcher, and an international community builder. She is the co-founder of Montaia Basecamp. When she is not facilitating co-living experiments and guiding group wilderness expeditions, Kaela travels the world studying intersubjective that range all the way from somatics to synergy practices (focused on intimacy and/or group cohesion dynamics).

Land Acknowledgement

We recognize and honor that the land that we live upon is the traditional territory of the Numa (Paiute) people. It was first known as Payahǖǖnadǖ, land of flowing water.

FAQs

What is the cost?

The cost for the total retreat is $2,500 for a private room, $2,000 for shared. This includes 7 days of food, lodging, curriculum/practice, and highly curated community. We have several worktrade and partial scholarship options available, so please contact us if funds are an obstacle to you attending.

What if I am totally new to cathartic group work?

This practice is not for everyone. Certain nervous systems find it to be highly beneficial, while others are challenged more greatly. Please schedule an interview call with our lead facilitator to decide if it is the right fir for you.

Can we stay at the venue longer than the DOJO retreat?

Yes! In fact we reccomend it. Several of the facilitators/hosts will aslo be staying on at Montaia Basecamp for a few days following the retreat. You may extend your stay at $75/night/room + $50 cleaning for up to 5 nights (until Dec 20).

What do I need to bring with me?

Bring personal items, clothing for early alpine winter weather. Bright sunny days but cold mountain nights. Bring comfy clothes that you can easily move around in for the entire week. You do not need to bring bedding or towels or kitchen ware.
